The other night, we had a little excitement when a recovery attempt was made from some !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! behind the house.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Yesterday, when we got home, we went for a walk to check out what was left. After careful examination and analysis from multiple angles, I believe we have found the noisemaker.

Irony. The noise was irony.

Edit - I heard back from the owner of the tow company (who I'm assuming is currently mourning a lost piece of equipment)

The extinguisher was just part of it. It was an air tank.

There wasn't much debris left from the incident. Just a pile here and there of a few items.

This is the burn area looking from the east. Red arrow shows where the Toyota Ford was stuck, and the drag marks that remain from the recovery of the tow truck. (more on that in a minute)

From the photo below, it looks like the tow truck driver pulled off into the tall, dry, flammable grass to perhaps walk down to the stuck truck and assess the stuckyness. I'm guessing that the tow truck caught fire while he was down there, which might explain why the fire extinguisher wasn't used.

And a single plastic car ramp to perhaps assist with the unstucking, or placed there in advance for some SuperSafariAdventure4Wheeling.

....and the long road ahead. After this cross trail, this is where the tire marks and the rutty struggling (as seen in the other photos) ended. This must have been how far the tow cable reached. From here forward, it's nothing but drag marks.

And last night's dinner I was able to eat while it was hot.

It's amazing how the actions of Dumbass effect this many people. The tow truck driver, the tow company. the fire fighters , the people that live nearby. Try getting that many people in a room and do something right. By the time you get down to where they'll vote, it probably only barely resembles the original. Dumbass=easy. Right=hard. :)

For whatever reason, tow truck drivers never shut off the truck. I'd wager that he left his truck running in some tall, dry grass which started to burn. This caused something on the truck to catch, and it all shit the bed from there.
